A new sign has been put up in Marlow to encourage drivers to reduce air pollution.
The sign, which has been erected in Spittal Street reads: “Air Quality Management Area reduce harmful emissions. Turn off your engine whilst stationary.”
The news was announced via Marlow Town Council’s Twitter account this morning, Friday, October 25.
This comes after the town was named an air quality management area, with Marlow having high levels of nitrogen dioxide which has been above the legal limit for several years back in August.
The air pollution levels of the town were confirmed one month after Marlow Town Council launched a new initiative called #SustainableMarlow, which is to try and make Marlow one of the most environmentally friendly places in the south of England.
This will be the second time that Spittal Street has had a banner this year asking drivers to turn off their engines.
