Another High Wycombe pub could be turned into flats after it shut down last year.

The Junction pub - on the corner of London Road and Cock Lane - could become nine flats if new plans are given the go-ahead.

The once popular pub was shut down around April last year and has been boarded up ever since.

Developers now want to make big changes to the building, and in their plans to turn it into flats, mention they want to remove the existing entrance to "reclaim" the original 1930s facade.

A "poor condition" garage on the site will be demolished and rebuilt into a single-storey extension, a chimney will be removed and the roof will be extended. They also hope to build three dormers in the roof.

According to the plans, which have been submitted by the Wellington Pub Company, the pub was suffering "severe financial difficulties" from 2016 until it shut in April 2018 and was "formally repossessed" in June last year with a "large outstanding debt".

The pub has reportedly been marketed since August last year but no serious interest has been received.

Citing other pubs and clubs that had permission to become homes - including The Peacock, Scorpios Bar, The Iron Duke, The Half Moon and The Gordon Arms - the developers said: "These cases demonstrate that on a number of occasions the council have supported the conversion or redevelopment of public houses to form residential accommodation".

The once-famous Nag's Head on London Road has also been turned into flats.

Meanwhile, another High Wycombe pub, the Beaconsfield Arms, could be turned into 14 apartments after plans were submitted months ago.

The community has rallied to try and save it - even launching a petition against the plans.
