This week we asked our readers’ where you can get the best cooked breakfast in Bucks.
Bacon and egg lovers responded in their masses, and these are the five places that came out on top.
1) Carol’s Kitchen at the Prince of Wales, Marlow - This one received a lot of votes and rave reviews. A large English breakfast and a stroll by the river sounds like a perfect autumn morning, and with the Prince of Wales being tucked just behind the sometimes manic Marlow High-street this is the best place for it. One reader said: “Lovely home cooked food, big portions and good price. The ladies are fantastic!”
2) Bluegrass BBQ, High Wycombe - A less traditional option, however if you’re a fan of classic American breakfasts Bluegrass BBQ is a great choice. The menu boasts a huge variety of stacked pancakes (which one reader said were “beautifully fluffy”), a typical American option of steak and eggs, and the usual cooked breakfast with a few quirky additions such as BBQ beans.
3) Hills Cafe, High Wycombe - You can have a lie in if you’re going to this cafe as the breakfasts are sold all day. Known in the area as a community hub to meet friends and a great place to take the whole family. One reviewer said: “A genuine heart of the community. Love the all day breakfasts and the warm welcome that I always receive. Fab coffee, great quality ingredients and free wifi - what’s not to love.”
4) Chiltern Taps, High Wycombe - A full breakfast for just over £5 is always a bargain and at the Chiltern Taps it’s meant to be great quality too. One of our readers said: “Brilliant for breakfast. Lovely friendly staff.”
5) The Riverside Bistro, High Wycombe - Known for its outstanding prices and welcoming atmosphere it’s no surprise the Bistro made it onto our list. Located right opposite the Swan Theatre parking isn’t a hassle. One reviewer said: “The staff were very warm and friendly. The food was amazing. I will definitely be going back again!”
