The Wycombe Liberal Democrats have chosen their candidate to take on Steve Baker at the next General Election.
Toni Brodelle, who has lived and worked in High Wycombe for most of her life, will be vying for the Tory MP's seat whenever the next election is called.
Toni was selected for the role on Thursday night.
Chair of the Wycombe Lib Dems, Ian Morton, said: "I am delighted and incredibly honoured that Toni Brodelle has chosen the Liberal Democrats to pursue the changes she wants to see in our society.
"As someone who has been living, working and campaigning in Wycombe for most of her life Toni is ideally placed to represent us in Parliament.
"Our second place in the European Elections this year showed that the Liberal Democrats can win in Wycombe.
"With our revival both nationally and locally combined with a fantastic candidate these are exciting times for the Liberal Democrats."
Toni added: "Like many, I have seen what is a happening in our community, our political system and our world and I cannot just sit by and do nothing.
"This is my way of rolling up my sleeves and hopefully making a positive impact for our community and beyond.”
Toni has worked extensively to help Syrian refugees settle in the area and has worked with the House of Lords task group on Syria and the refugee crisis.
She will go up against Mr Baker and Khalil Ahmed, who has been selected by Wycombe Labour to fight for the seat.
