Expert judges descended on Amersham on Wednesday as judging for this years Amersham in Bloom took place.
Volunteers, businesses, local schools and other residents have all worked incredibly hard over the previous year to prepare a stunning display in the Memorial Gardens.
In October of last year Amersham received a gold award at the Britain in Bloom National Finals Ceremony held in Belfast. The town hope to achieve a gold award this year.
Amongst the installations that caught the judges eye, a stunning bridge has been placed in the centre of the garden, surrounded by beautiful landscaping.
This is part of the new 'Peace Garden' addition. The Peace Garden includes a waterfall, planted wall, a pollinator bed and the bridge itself.
Town Mayor Councillor Mark Flys attended the judging and said that he was incredibly impressed by the work that had gone in to produce the stunning display.
Mark said: "Before I became a councillor I did not really appreciate the amount of hard work that goes into it. We are very lucky compared to other towns, they don't have this level of commitment that we do.
"The fact that it is all volunteer work is incredibly impressive.
"We use it as a community asset, we have concerts here throughout the summer as well as our remembrance events - it is a great focal point and it is a real iconic flagship of the town."
Town Clerk Steve Catanach said: "The community comes together for this initiative and I do think that Bloom galvanises the whole town. Without the community groups, the businesses, the schools, we could not do this of this scale.
"Last Sunday we had around 400 people for our concert and it is still impeccable. That shows the pride people have both in the town and in both the display and the town as a whole.
"To be chosen as one of only 78 villages, towns and cities to enter the national finals is a real honour and testament to our devotion to our local environment, conservation efforts and community.
"We are hoping for a GOLD award when the results are announced on 25 October in London, but more importantly the competition has provided the momentum to make further improvements to our wonderful town."
