The veterinary nurse fired for posting a disturbing video of the amputated leg of a dog has spoken out to apologise for her “silly” actions.
In a statement to the Bucks Free Press, Tina Askham, who worked at Hamilton Specialist Referrals, said: “I apologise wholeheartedly for what was a very silly thing to do.
“I did this totally of my own accord and did not think of the consequences.
“It was simply a case of trying to make light of a sad situation – it had been an extremely busy and stressful week.
“In hindsight, this was the wrong thing to do and it has come across totally out of context, for which I am truly sorry.
