READ MORE: Race for life on? Travellers arrive at Rye Park
A GROUP of travellers who situated themselves at The Rye in High Wycombe at the beginning of the week have now started to leave.
The Bucks Free Press captured the moment where some of the caravans left the site at around 2pm this afternoon (July 19).
From the 30 caravans that were at the park by Wednesday, approximately 10 were remaining by Friday afternoon.
Two council rubbish vans were also at the site.
This comes after the town’s hugely popular Cancer Research Race for Life, due to be held on the Rye on Sunday, was thrown into doubt.
Travellers arrived at the park hours after the Bucks Town and Country Show finished on July 14, after they left the Kingsmead Recreation Ground, where they had been camped for around a week.
Runners signed up to Sunday's Race for Life have recieved a text this afternoon.
It says: "Great news. High Wycombe Race for Life is ON!
"We can't wait to see you at the Rye on Sunday."
A spokesman from Cancer Research UK also confirmed to the Bucks Free Press that the race is back on.
