Furious residents have hit out after two ticket machines in a Marlow car park broke down.
The machines in Liston Court, which accepts payment either by card or through the mobile app RingGo Parking, have been experiencing problems for the last few days causing members of the public to show their frustrations.
One motorist said: “This is a joke. I’ve tried to get a ticket twice now and it’s still not working. Knowing my luck, a traffic warden is going to see my car without a ticket and I’ll get clocked."
Another said: “Sometimes is just too complicated. What happens if you don’t have your phone on you? You have to go back to your car and get it and then find out the ticket machines aren’t working. It’s ridiculous.”
The problem occurs after the motorists put in their number plate. When going to the next stage, the screen will not respond before saying, ‘sorry, failed to communicate with server’ before going back to the home screen.
One motorist was fortunate enough to get a ticket but admitted she had to be ‘very patient’ to get it.
Wycombe District Council's parking team have said: "This is an issue we were made aware of late yesterday.
"We have not been able to resolve it ourselves and have referred it with urgency to our supplier to rectify.
"Unfortunately we don’t currently have a timescale.
"We apologise for any inconvenience it may cause.
"Payment for parking can still be made via RingGo using the automated phone line or Smartphone App and if a motorist is unable or unwilling to use this, then other nearby car parks are available which allow card payment to be made at the paystations."
