Part of the Wycombe Swan has been boarded up after a car smashed into the building on Wednesday afternoon.
The windows on the St Mary Street side of the theatre have been covered with boards and a cordon was put in place following an incident there at around 4.30pm.
Eyewitnesses say a white saloon car crashed through the front glass of the building and a man was left injured.
The theatre was hosting Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Band that evening and those arriving for the show were advised that the restaurant would be open at 5.30pm "due to an incident adjacent".
The theatre is still open as usual.
A Bucks Fire and Rescue team from nearby High Wycombe fire station had to use hydraulic equipment and a toolkit to make the vehicle safe.
Police and South Central Ambulance Service were also on the scene and a man was injured.
