In the second of our weekly Readers’ Choice features, we asked you what the best curry houses in Bucks are.
1) Kappad. High Wycombe - Kappad received the most nominations for our readers favourite curry house. Labelled ‘equally fitting for a romantic setting as it is for a group of friends’, the restaurant boasts an extensive menu full of authentic Indian cuisine cooked by the restaurants expert chefs. “Those who have been to Kerala and eaten at Kappad testify to the authenticity of the cuisine and the expertise of the chefs” praised one of the restaurants diners.
2) Tiger Garden, Marlow - With a menu bursting full of variety, the restaurant caters for all palettes and boasts an extensive selection of seafood and vegetarian dishes for those who want to sample something a little out of the ordinary. “The food itself was great quality and full of flavour and there was a great selection of meals to choose from. Admittedly, you pay a little more than you would in other Indian restaurants, but overall, I think it is worth the price – the food and the service was wonderful” said one diner.
3) Mr India, Loudwater - A large, tranquil restaurant , readers especially praised the friendliness of the staff and the warm atmosphere when visiting. The first Indian restaurant in Loudwater, Mr India has been consistently pleasing diners since 1999 and remains just as popular today as it has always been with locals. Our reporter said: “I had heard excellent things about Mr India and I can see why. Every single ingredient they put into every dish is hugely respected by the skilful chefs.”
4) The Last Viceroy, Bourne End - A local institution since 1986, The Last Viceroy is set in the heart of Bourne End and has been a favourite amongst local residents ever since. The restaurant boasts an impressive menu, taking diners on a culinary journey from the earliest Persian influences to modern day Indian cuisine. There is a reason why it has been a local staple for over three decades, and the staffs unerring attention to detail and excellent service to guests go a long way to explaining its success.
5) Radhuni, Princes Risborough - Boasting an impressive selection of both Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine, Radhuni earns the last place having been recommended by our readers. One praised the restaurant, saying that: “the food is very impressive, it is very well decorated and there are unusual dishes which could excite the palate.”
