An unexploded wartime grenade closed Marlow bridge for several hours last night - the second closure in just three days.
Two men magnet fishing are reported to have recovered the device from the Thames close to the bridge late on Saturday night.
A Royal Logistics Corps Explosive Ordinance Disposal team removed the device and the bridge re-opened at around 1.30am on Sunday morning.
The Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Race was also affected by the river diversion - forcing contestants to leave the water and run with their boats to the other side of the bridge.
It is the second time the bridge was shut by police in just three days after live ammunition was pulled from the river on April 17.
A controlled explosion - shown in the video by TVP Wycombe above - was carried out this morning.
Police said the incident highlights the dangers of magnet fishing, adding: "Don’t forget you need the land owners and waterways permission prior to fishing.
