Recycling centres across the local area have now moved to summer opening times, with the Buckinghamshire County Council confirming the opening times for the upcoming Easter bank holiday weekend.
Sites at Burnham, Chesham and Rabans Lane in Aylesbury will now be closed every Wednesday and Thursday. All nine of these centres will be open from 9am – 6pm across all four days of the Easter weekend.
Charges have now been introduced by the household recycling centre service for accepting non-household waste. This is generally material that comes from construction, demolition and renovation works or garden landscaping.
Disposal of all household waste and green garden waste will remain free.
Bill Chapple, Buckinghamshire County Council Cabinet Member for Planning and Environment, said: "This is the time of year when we all think about getting both house and garden ready for summer
Although this April has seen the introduction of a number of changes at our household recycling centres such as charging for non-household waste, it's nevertheless business as usual for the service as it gets ready for one of its busiest times of the year.
"If making a visit over the long weekend, I'd ask residents to first check how busy their site is via webcam if they want to avoid a queue, and to be aware that if they are bringing non-household waste they will need to make a payment before disposing of it."
In order to avoid queues at the centres, site webcams can be checked by visiting: www.buckscc.gov.uk/services/waste-and-recycling/household-recycling-centres.
