A Wycombe Labour candidate who was "suspended" from the party days before the by-election in Totteridge and Bowerdean has won the vote.
Israr Rashid is the new Bucks County Councillor for Totteridge and Bowerdean after winning the election with a majority of 310.
The poll result was as follows:
- Israr Rashid: 978 votes (40.8 per cent of vote)
- Matt Knight, East Wycombe Independent: 668 votes (27.8 per cent of vote)
- Ben James Holkham, Liberal Democrat: 508 votes (21.2 per cent of vote)
- Richard David Peters, Conservative: 245 votes (10.2 per cent of vote)
Turnout: 30.21 per cent
The County Council's 49 seats are made up of 41 Conservatives, 4 Liberal Democrat, one East Wycombe Independents, two Labour and one Independent.
