A supermarket was shut by police this morning after burglers broke in during the early hours.
Shoppers were being turned away from Tesco in Loudwater, with members of staff telling them that there was a police investigation taking place.
Thames Valley Police said there was a report of a burglary at the store at 1.19am today (Monday) and officers were still at the scene just after 10am.
An eyewitness told the Bucks Free Press that staff turning shoppers away said the store would not be reopening until around midday - however the store was still not reopened at 12.30pm, with latest estimates from staff being 1.30pm.
A Tesco spokesman said: “We can confirm that a robbery took place at our Loudwater superstore this morning and we are supporting the police with their investigations.
“We would like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused.
“The store has now reopened and is serving customers as normal.”
