A well-used underpass in High Wycombe has been shut off after it became submerged under metres of water following heavy rainfall.
The pedestrian underpass, which runs under Abbey Way, is well-used by parents and young children as well as cyclists heading to and from the town centre and The Rye.
However, it has become flooded with deep water after heavy rain and has had to be closed off.
The handrails leading down to the underpass are under the water line.
Complaints about the underpass have been reported in the Bucks Free Press as far back as 2002, when parents feared the flooding could lead to the death of a child.
Transport for Bucks have been approached for an update on when the underpass will be drained and reopened.
