BUILDERS took a break from work at Eden to go head to head showing off their skills in a Judgement Day competition.
They battled it out for supremacy at the building site of the multi-million shopping and leisure development in High Wycombe town centre as part of tool manufacturer Stanley's regional tour to showcase workmanship.
Using the company's range of hand tools, builders took part in four main tasks:
The Hammer vs The Hedgehog - a race against the clock to see how fast a 6'' nail can be driven into wood
The Saw vs The Butcher - to see how finely a piece of wood can be cut
The Tape vs Cannon - to see who can be first to trigger a cannon 13 feet away using only the tape
The Fubar vs The Shed - the ultimate challenge: a tag team demolition of a shed.
David Osborne, Stanley's head of marketing, said: "The main events take place inside a boxing ring, which comes complete with score cards, a leader board and girls to cheer them on to really create an atmosphere on site.
"The events have been very well received and have helped to bolster team spirit on construction sites in a fun, but safe and controlled manner.
"We've chosen to hold our high profile Judgement Day at suitably prominent sites as they themselves play such an important role in making the overall day a success and I'd like to thank everyone at Multiplex for their support with our High Wycombe leg of the tour."
Winners were chosen based on their skills demonstrated during all the challenges and were awarded with a belt full of tools. Everyone who took part picked up a Stanley discount voucher to be used at Issac Lord in Desborough Road.
