A new gym that was due to open up in Marlow within weeks has faced a "huge setback" after travellers set up just metres from their front door.
However, Bill Kelly, from the gym, has told the Bucks Free Press the opening has had to be postponed and booked classes pushed back due to the travellers.
Bill says the team from Leo Gym have spent the last year - and £1 million - renovating the building to turn it into a "boutique" yoga and CrossFit facility.
The opening has now been pushed back because members feel "intimidated" walking through the caravans to reach the centre and workmen, who were due to put finishing touches to the gym before the opening, are unable to access the site.
He said: "This has caused absolute havoc as we have had to push back all the classes that have already been booked.
"It has turned what should be a really exciting time for us and our team, into one of stress and uncertainty."
It comes amid reports that fences surounding the building had been locked, leaving a member of staff unable to leave the gym, with parts of the building "defaced" and excrement found on the site.
Mr Kelly added: "It's absolute carnage.
"We were so excited to get this up and to create something positive for the community, and add something to Marlow.
"We are a group of young, enthusiastic entrepreneurs who want to make a difference to our community and feel so frustrated that, just as we’re about to start, we’ve been dealt a huge setback.
"We will stay positive and and hopefully it won't be too long until we can open. We will have to wait and find out. It hasn't been great."
Wycombe District Council told the Free Press last Wednesday that it was aware of the travellers and was taking "appropriate steps" to "move them on", but has now said Bucks County Council (BCC) has taken over.
BCC has been contacted for comment.
