The Government is set to fund the £7.5 million realignment of a major road in High Wycombe to make way for 700 homes.
Abbey Barn Lane will be realigned and there will be junction reconfiguration in a bid to "support the local plan" and the building of hundreds of new homes.
The cash boost has been announced by the Treasury this morning as part of a £224.5 million investment in local housing projects.
A total of £12 million will also be awarded for the Princes Risborough expansion area and £4,472,144 on the planned Beaconsfield relief road.
Housing Secretary Sajid Javid and Chancellor Philip Hammond announced that 32 council-led projects across the South East will receive funding to support local work that will make housing developments viable and get homes built quicker.
Mr Javid said: "My priority is building the homes this country desperately needs.
"This first wave of investment in projects across the South East will help get up to 50,000 homes off the ground, making a huge difference to communities across the region.
"This is just one of the many ways this Government is taking action to get Britain building homes again."
Two reserve sites on Abbey Barn Lane – Abbey Barn North and South – were released for development by Wycombe District Council in 2014.
Abbey Barn North was tipped for around 100 homes, while Abbey Barn South could get more than 500.
Meanwhile, Princes Risborough will bear the brunt of the new homes needed in the district, with around a quarter – 2650 – built in the town.
The long-awaited A355 relief road in Beaconsfield was given the green light to go ahead by Bucks County Council last year in a bid to help ease congestion around the old town ahead of a new 350-home development at Wilton Park.
