A KERBSIDE recycling scheme has been expanded to cover an extra 22,000 properties.
Residents in parts of Downley, High Wycombe, Totteridge, Micklefield, Cressex, Castlefield, Booker, Sands and Lane End now make up the 51,000 properties who can recycle their empty plastic bottles, food and drink tins and cans from their home.
Wycombe District Council also collect food and garden waste in green wheeled bins, paper and cardboard in green boxes alongside the black box scheme Since the black box scheme was first introduced to parts of the district in summer 2005, more than 880 tonnes of plastic bottles, tins and cans have been collected through this scheme alone.
The scheme allows any kind of plastic bottle to be recycled, no matter what it may have contained. All other types of plastic wrapping and packaging must be disposed of through the normal refuse collection.
If you have any questions about the new recycling scheme you can contact WDC's waste and recycling team on 01494 421415.
