A 26-year-old man died after his car smashed into a tree in a quiet south Bucks village this morning.
Detectives are appealing for more information about the horror smash which happened in Nightingales Lane, Chalfont St Giles, at 6.40am today.
They have revealed the driver died after his blue Subaru Impreza collided with a tree.
He was the only one in the vehicle and sadly died at the scene.
The road was closed until 11.45am to allow investigation and recovery work to take place.
His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers, Thames Valley Police said.
Investigating officer, PC Colin Riley of Thames Valley Police Joint Operations Unit, based at Amersham, said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this very difficult time.
“We are appealing for witnesses and would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the Subaru on Nightingales Lane prior to the collision.
“Anyone with information should call 101 quoting URN 273 16/9/17.”
