About 35 firefighters tackled a huge crane blaze on the M40 last night, with the motorway only reopening at just before 7am.
The emergency services were on the scene, between junction 2 (Beaconsfield) and junction 1a, since about 9.30pm yesterday after receiving panicked 999 calls.
Bucks Fire and Rescue say dozens of firefighters helped extinguish the flames, with six fire engines, a water tanker and a command unit also on the scene.
The motorway was closed until about half an hour ago, with the mobile crane now being removed by recovery vehicles.
It is not yet known if any anyone has been hurt in the fire, but it is understood that only one vehicle was involved.
