Janice Swain died today after suffering serious injuries in a crash on the A404 between Handy Cross and Marlow

Tributes have poured in for a “beautiful” and “bubbly” mother who died this morning after a horror crash on a busy dual carriageway.

Relatives of High Wycombe woman Janice Swain told the Bucks Free Press that doctors switched off her life support machine at about 11am today after a desperate battle to save her life.

The mother-of-one, from the Micklefield area, was driving along the A404 yesterday, with teenage daughter Georgia and beloved dog Peaches when disaster struck.

The family were involved in a three-car smash, with the impact forcing her VW Beetle to flip three times.

Paramedics did what they could to free Janice from the wreckage of the crash and save her life, while others treated her 18-year-old daughter Georgia.

Sadly, at 11am today the devastating decision to turn off the 43-year-old’s life support machine was made.

Following her death, tributes have poured in, with family and friends describing Janice as “one of a kind”.

Speaking to the Free Press, aunt Ann Hoad said: “She was very bubbly and loved life. She would have helped anyone.

“She loved animals and she had a beautiful personality. One of the best people I think I’ve ever met.

“Why is it always the good ones that have to go?”

Heartbroken relatives are still reeling in the aftermath of the tragedy and are focusing their attentions at looking after Janice’s daughter.

The 18-year-old miraculously survived the crash, suffering just minor injuries according to family members.

Mrs Hoad said: “Doctors switched the machine off at 11am saying she had suffered such severe head trauma there was no way back.

“Some [relatives] are still at the hospital, others are trying to pick up the pieces and trying to make arrangements to look after her daughter.”

The former Great Marlow School student was brought up in Marlow, where most of her family still live.

Relatives say she had a passion for animals and worked at dog grooming company Mucky Pups, in Beaconsfield.

Janice’s albino boxer dog, Peaches, was also in the car at the time of the accident and was slightly injured.

Another motorist found Peaches in the road following the crash and took it to nearby vets, and has since been returned to family members.

An air ambulance was called to the crash site yesterday.

Describing Janice as a “beautiful person”, close friend Vicki Johnson said: “She was completely nutty, but beautiful. She was honest and loyal, just such a nice person.

“She loved her family and her daughter was her best friend – the love of her live.”

“We went to school together and from about the age of nine we grew up with each other. It is just all so sad.”

The A404, between Handy Cross and Marlow, was closed for more than three hours as the emergency services treated the casualties shortly after 1.35pm.

An air ambulance was called to the southbound carriageway as part of the emergency response, with paramedics rushing Janice to John Radcliffe Hospital.

Dozens of other people have also paid tribute to Janice on Facebook.

Shauna Coker said: “She was a lovely lady and funny, a bubbly personality and she will be missed by loads of people in Marlow.”

Darren Manley said: “She was good mate and will be missed RIP Jan.”
