A 5k parkrun in High Wycombe will celebrate its 200th run on Saturday.
The Wycombe Rye parkrun is a free timed run that takes place every Saturday morning at The Rye, off Bassetsbury Lane.
Since its conception in 2012, it has seen more than 5,000 runners complete over 36,000 runs, covering a total distance of 182,245km. It now attracts around 400 runners each week from seasoned runners to beginners.
Wycombe District Council chairman cllr Mahboob Hussain will take part as an honorary starter to mark the occasion.
Alistair France, the run director on Saturday said: “What I love about parkrun is that it is such a wonderful community event. There are hundreds of people running here every week, encouraging each other and trying to get fit.
“We couldn’t do it without the support of Wycombe District Council, and the Lido, but together we have a really special event.”
