A convict who stabbed a man in the head after watching him “dancing naked” with his ex-girlfriend says he “deserves” to be behind bars in a letter sent to the Bucks Free Press from his prison cell.
High Wycombe father-of-five, Hanif Da Silva, was jailed last year after targeting his former partner and her friend in a terrifying knife attack.

After losing an appeal against his eight-year sentence last month, the inmate has now penned a note saying he accepts his punishment for repeatedly stabbing his victim in the head, neck, wrist and hands.
In his candid admission, Da Silva talks about how he got angry, assaulted Abigail Goddard and stabbed her friend Trevor Thomas in the head and neck before going on the run.
The former Booker Place resident, 28, attempted to appeal his length jail term at London’s Appeal Court last month, but was told by a top judge that he deserves every day of the sentence - a statement the convict now appears to agree with.
The attack happened at a property in Bletchley, with the violence erupting after da Silva found the pair “dancing naked in her living room”.
Maddened by jealousy, Da Silva got into the house and armed himself with a knife from the kitchen.
Ms Goddard ran upstairs for some clothes but, as she came back down, Da Silva slapped her across the face.
He then pushed Mr Thomas onto a sofa and got on top of him, “striking down on his head” with the knife.
The victim was left with wounds to his scalp, wrist and hand and lost over half a pint of blood, the court heard.
Da Silva was convicted of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm and caged for eight years at Aylesbury Crown Court on November 19, 2015.
Following a report in the Free Press about his dismissed appeal, Da Silva wrote: “I want to apologise for my crime.
“I have been found guilty by Aylesbury Crown Court for GBH, sec 18 intent, and ABH and deserve the eight-year sentence I was given.
“I entered the property in Bletchley, and found Mrs Goddard naked with Mr Thomas.
“I got angry and assaulted Mrs Goddard and stabbed Mr Thomas in the head and neck and then I went on the run.
“I am truly sorry for my crimes. I wish it never happened.
“I am truly sorry to anyone who has been affected by my actions.
“I want to move on with my life and forget about the past. I am taking steps to educate myself more.”
