The heated outdoor pool at a south Bucks leisure centre has reopened following the completion of £200,000 worth of refurbishments.
Guests at the Wycombe Rye Lido in High Wycombe will be able to enjoy more “stable and efficient” environmentally friendly heating thanks to new boilers and pool covers, underwater lights for special occasions and new lining for a more comfortable surface to walk on.
General manager Daniel Penn said he was “excited” to get the improvements underway.
Wycombe Rye Lido, previously called Holywell Mead Pool, opened in 1957 and closed in March 2009 after Wycombe District Council said it could no longer fund the running of the site. It opened again in March 2011 by Fusion Lifestyle.
The £200,000 investment will complete the rejuvenation of the pool following its re-opening.
