Teams of runners from across the county battled bubbles last week to raise money for charity.
A total of 2,700 fundraisers, including team from High Wycombe and Longwick, took part in the first ever Bubble Rush in aid of The Hospice of St Francis on Sunday April 17.
The event, dubbed “the frothiest child-friendly 5k in Herts and Bucks”, took place in Hemel Hempstead and has so far raised £115,000.
Longwick Pre-school was represented with a seven-strong team of staff including Sam Lacey, Nadine Chandler, Zoe Davies, Helen O’Mara, Lisa Lowles and her children Alfie and Tahliya.
Ms Lacey said: “We saw it on Facebook and thought it would be a great thing to do all together as a team to get fit.
“We got very muddy and very bubbly and we’d definitely like to do it again – we absolutely loved it.”
Sonia Ihsan, who works for High Wycombe-based company Monodraught, said: “It was awesome, totally different from your average 5k event.
“We both thought the bubbles and foam made running 5k much more fun and it was great to see some many children of all ages joining in and having fun.
“The foam was fabulous, the atmosphere was great and it was so well organised. We’ll definitely do it again.”
Fran Martin, the hospice’s events manager, said: “Our brilliant Bubblers have raised a phenomenal amount and I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part.
“Thanks also to our loyal and committed marshals and volunteers, to our sponsors, Hillier Hopkins LLP, and everyone who contributed in any way.”
