UPDATE: Four men cleared over sex offence charges
Eight young men have been charged this week with a series of sexual offences against the same victim following a two-year police operation.
Police confirmed this afternoon that eight men, including two from Flackwell Heath, one from High Wycombe and one from Wooburn Green, have been charged under the Sexual Offences Act 2003 as part of Operation Royce.
Six of the men were charged with engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15 and three with making an indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child.
One man was also charged with possession of an extreme pornographic image portraying an act of intercourse/oral sex with a dead/alive animal.
The full charges are as follows:
- Steven Douglas, aged 21, of Fennels Way, Flackwell Heath, was arrested on 10 February last year and charged on Tuesday (19/4) with two counts of offender 18 or over engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15.
- Charlie Merefield, aged 20, of Rosebery Avenue, High Wycombe, was arrested on 10 February last year and charged on Tuesday (19/4) with three counts of offender 18 or over engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15.
- Alex Foale, aged 20, of Green Dragon Lane, Flackwell Heath, was arrested on 12 February last year and charged on Wednesday (20/4) with two counts of being an offender 18 or over engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15.
- Ryan Squire, aged 22, of Coaters Lane, Woburn Green, was arrested on 10 February last year and was charged on Wednesday (20/4) with three counts of being an offender 18 or over engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15.
- Stephen McMillan, aged 26, of Viridian Square, Aylesbury, was arrested on 3 November 2014 and charged on Monday (18/4) with one count of causing/inciting a child aged 13-17 to prostitution/pornography, one count of making an indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child, one count of distributing an indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child, and one count of possession of an extreme pornographic image portraying an act of intercourse/oral sex with a dead/alive animal.
- Nathan Tilly, aged 23, of Boddington Road, Wendover, was arrested on 10 February last year and was charged on Wednesday (20/4) with two counts of being an offender 18 or over engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15.
- Nemanja Meletic, aged 24, of Mount Pleasant Road, London, was arrested on 10 February last year and charged on Tuesday (19/4) with one count of causing/inciting a child aged 13-17 to prostitution/pornography, and six counts of making an indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child.
- Ryan Henry, aged 22, of Blackamoor Lane, Maidenhead, was arrested on 10 February last year and was charged on Wednesday (20/4) with two counts of being an offender 18 or over engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged 13 to 15, one count of taking an indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child, one count of causing/inciting a child 13 - 17 to prostitution/pornography, and two counts of making an indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child.
Thames Valley Police confirmed this afternoon that the offences are alleged to have taken place between 2008 and 2015 and relate to one victim.
They have all been released on bail to appear at Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on June 7.
Seven other men arrested in connection with the investigation have been released without charge.
