Terrified supermarket staff were threatened by robbers wielding a crowbar and metal pole in Stoke Poges on Saturday night.
At around 9:50pm on Saturday, five men entered the Co-op on Bells Hill, two of which were armed with a metal pole and a crow bar.
They threatened staff then climbed over the counter stealing cigarettes and cash.
The men fled the scene in a blue Renault Megane which was later found abandoned on Duffield Lane.
No one was injured during the incident.
The men are slim to medium build. Four of the men were wearing dark casual clothing with facial coverings and one was white and was wearing a light grey or white tracksuit and a facial covering.
Det Sgt Tracey Benham, from Aylesbury Force CID, said: "Officers are investigating the circumstances of this robbery and I would like to appeal for anyone with any information which could assist enquiries to contact police.
"While no one was hurt during the robbery, this was a distressing incident for the staff involved so if you have any details which could help the investigation please come forward."
