The £150 million Handy Cross Hub is on-track to be completed in November with the multi-storey car park one of the latest projects to be finished.
According to Wycombe District Council the construction is moving at pace towards completion with work continuing behind the scenes.
In recent weeks, windows and a green copper cladding have been added between the first floor gym and the ground floor entrance to complete what designers hope will be an “eye-catching design” of the new Wycombe Leisure Centre.
Workers also finished construction of the multi-storey car park superstructure, near the entrance of the leisure centre, in just six weeks.
Mechanical and electrical work has been taking place inside the site too, including engineering on the heating, ventilating, filtering and lighting of the swimming pool.
Work to install the moveable floors in the 50m pool and the 20m training pool, along with the submersible wall in the 50m pool so it can be split in two, has been completed.
Filling both pools with water for testing and commissioning is planned for later this month and the tiling of the floors and changing area is scheduled to finish in early October.
The installation of the hardwood sprung timber floor in the multi-use 12 court sports hall was also programmed to begin this week.
The new Waitrose supermarket building is also expected be finished shortly, WDC say.
Waitrose are planning to begin work at the unit in the New Year, which will enable a phased start-up to the opening of the Handy X Hub over the first quarter of 2016.
The new Wycombe Leisure Centre is expected to be finished first and opened in January before the Coachway Park and Ride and Waitrose supermarket is officially declared open.
