The M40 has reopened after a lorry blaze on the northbound carriageway this afternoon.
The vehicle was carrying sofas and chairs when it caught fire between junction 3 for Loudwater and junction 4, Handy Cross.
Traffic ground to a halt and all lanes were closed as emergency services raced to the scene, but all lanes have since reopened.
Bucks Fire were called to the scene at 3.23pm and a crew from High Wycombe and another from Gerrards Cross attended.
They used two hose reels and two sets of breathing apparatus to put the fire out.
The lorry, which was completely destroyed by the fire, is currently on the hard shoulder awaiting recovery and traffic is queuing back to junction 2.
