Wycombe's Labour candidate has highlighted the benefits of immigration when quizzed at a Question Time-style debate this week.
During the Bucks Free Press' hustings event, held at Bucks New Uni, David Williams told the audience that both the European Union and immigration “is good for us”.
Mr Williams, who is not in favour of a points-based system, highlighted the benefits of immigration, adding: “Let’s accept that and welcome them, from all cultures, it enriches our society and benefits us.”
He said: “The European Union is very good for us and we have no plans to get out of it and so we will deal with immigration in the way it needs to be dealt with, which is managing it properly, planning for it properly and accepting the benefits it brings but also imposing fair controls where necessary.”
He added: “The reality is that immigration is good for us.”
