A Wycombe-based charity that helped give disadvantaged youngsters practical skills has been forced to close.
Out of the Dark, which taught youngsters how to re-work old pieces of furniture into something contemporary, has had to shut due to cashflow problems.
The company's website can no longer be accessed, but details of the charity's demise were given on their Facebook page.
It said: "Today is a very sad day because, we are closing Out of The Dark. We have had a rough few weeks and between you & me, Phewww I'm glad it's over.
"I will try and explain what has happen. We have had a cashflow problem since December, losing a big commercial job and a funding application not coming in, put us in a very difficult position (money wise). So we was on a BIG sales drive after Christmas, which is not always the best time to push sales. The sales drive has not worked and it left me with no choice but to, throw the towel in.
"So it is with great sadness, that i am letting you know that our trustees will be starting the insolvency process.
"I want to THANK YOU all for your support."
The message went on: "Everything in life has to come to an end sometime. It’s important to acknowledge and accept the end of an era - to walk away sensibly when something has reached its conclusion. Closing the door, turning the page, moving on, etc. It doesn’t matter what you call it; what matters is that you leave the past where it belongs so you can enjoy the life that’s still available to be lived.
"This ending is not THE END, it’s just your life beginning again in a new way. It’s a point in your story where one chapter fades into the next. Take a look at the first page of this new chapter; it’s a beautiful one."
Posts on the page suggested the charity - which was run by husband and wife team Jay and Jade Blades from its base in Oakridge Road - hoped to continue with its work in some capacity in the future.
