Eagle-eyed film fans may have spotted a number of famous scenes from the National Trust estate of Cliveden in a recently released movie.
A Little Chaos, starring Kate Winslet, was the latest blockbuster film to roll up at Cliveden, in Taplow, and make the most of the stunning scenery, with the production team behind Disney’s Cinderella having also taken inspiration from the area.
For this latest production, filming actually took place over several days in May 2013, with the gardens and house providing a number of locations seen in the film.
Cliveden’s hedge-lined ‘Queen Anne’s Walk’ was transformed into an avenue which forms the entrance way to an outdoor ballroom, while a huge bed was built in the elaborate French Dining Room so it could become the King’s bedroom inside his new palace.
Hannah Purcell, Cliveden’s business development manager said: “It takes a lot of planning to host big productions such as ‘A Little Chaos’ but we love having crews here.
“Visitors seem to really enjoy seeing filming in process too – but it is not every day that you’ll see Kate Winslet walking through the gardens.”
She added: “Providing locations for filming is an important way for the National Trust to raise much needed funds to help us look after the special places in our care.”
