Four people charged in connection with a spate of attacks on cars in Castlefield appeared in court this afternoon.
Iftikar Aslam, 22, of Desborough Road, 20-year-old Waqas Yasin and 19-year-old Khurum Hanif, both of Rutland Avenue, and a 17-year-old who cannot be named for legal reasons, all appeared via video link for a preliminary hearing at Aylesbury Crown Court.
The charges they each face relate to incidents of criminal damage to 247 vehicles across Castlefield from Tuesday, March 3, and Thursday, April 9.
Aslam, Yasin and Hanif have all been charged with arson, theft of a motor vehicle and conspiracy to destroy/damage property. The 17-year-old faces the same charges, along with another charge of possessing cannabis.
All four spoke only to confirm their names during the short hearing.
They have all been remanded into custody, with an application to release Yasin on bail being refused by Judge Francis Sheridan this afternoon.
Judge Sheridan said the four would next be back in court on July 6, when they are expected to enter pleas in relation to the charges they face.
