A young enterprise team from Pipers Corner are celebrating after scooping five prizes at a High Wycombe trade fair.

Budding entrepreneurs aged from 15 to 19 from 26 schools across High Wycombe took part in the programme at the Eden Centre.

The Pipers Young Enterprise group, Dynamique, which is made up of Emila Fenn, Georgina Hide, Elizabeth Prescott, Gabriella Steel, Chloe Ward, Rebecca Weatherhead and Charlotte West, developed a business making and selling up-cycled bags.

The creative teens have been selling the makeup bags and pencil cases at local craft fairs.

The team amassed five prizes at the High Wycombe Area Finals, coming first in two categories, the Business Plan Award and the Marketing Award.

They also came second in the Manufacturing Award and the Company Report Award.

Facing tough competition from other schools including Wycombe Abbey School, Wycombe High School and John Hampden Grammar School, the team soared into 2nd out of the 20 teams taking part meaning that they will now go into the next round and compete against teams from schools from across the country.

The award-winning team were also shortlisted for the Environment award and the Rotary Award at the event.

Headteacher, Helen Ness-Gifford paid tribute to the girls’ hard work. She said: “I am extremely proud of the Young Enterprise team this year. They have worked very hard selling their home made bags and have done remarkably well.

“They are the most successful team the school has entered in to the Young Enterprise Competition to date.  Let’s hope the next round will be just as fruitful for them, they deserve it.”
