HOSPITAL bosses are looking to recruit members of the community to help revitalise the health service.
Four new members are being sought to act as non-executive directors on the board of the Buckinghamshire Hospitals' NHS Trust, which is responsible for the hospitals in Wycombe, Amersham and Stoke Mandeville.
Outstanding performers in a variety of fields such as business, science and education are needed to join the team. The positions will involve leadership responsibilities in the local trust.
Potential directors will need to demonstrate a commitment to improve the hospital-based health care in the area.
Local members are also preferred for the role.
The deadline for applications is March 1.
Candidates will need to have a background in business or some marketing experience and the enthusiasm to enhance the health service.
Bernard Williams, interim trust chairman, said: "Applicants need a strong personal commitment to the values of the NHS.
"It is an exciting time to work with the trust and the NHS in general.
"Joining the board offers a great opportunity for someone to influence the future of their local hospitals in the area."
The successful candidate will be expected to make decisions which affect patients, staff and the public.
Non-executive directors will receive a four year contract and a salary of £5,800 per year and will have to commit to a flexible 2.5 days work each month on average.
The trust has 4,700 staff and an annual budget of £260 million.
