Six more cars were vandalised in Castlefield last night - leading to a reward of £1,000 to be put up for information by the Crimestoppers charity.

Cars have been targeted around Castlefield for almost three weeks, with the six incidents of criminal damage in Pettifer Way at around 6pm the latest in a long line of disturbances.

A total of nine people have been arrested in connection to the disorder, with the two latest - of males aged 16 and 20 - being made on Saturday.

Extra police patrols, included from Thames Valley Police's mounted and dog sections, are being made in the area.

But the independent charity Crimestoppers has also offered a £1,000 cash reward for information resulting in an arrest and charge given to them in a bid to bring the thuggery to an end.

Superintendent Ed McLean, commander of Wycombe LPA, said: "I understand the ongoing criminal damage is a concern for many. It is innocent members of the public who are being affected by this needless damage.

"Additional police resources, including more officers on patrol, police horses and police dogs, are on patrol each day.

"We are continuing to make arrests in connection with these incidents and enquiries are ongoing.

"We ask that police and the community work together to put a stop to this behaviour."

Officers want to speak to two Asian boys - described as being aged 14-16, slim, about 5ft 3ins to 5ft 5ins in height and wearing dark clothing - in relation to last night's damage in Pettifer Way.

Police also want to speak to an Asian man in his late teens to early twenties and of slim build in relation to damage caused to nine vehicles in Dashwood Avenue on Saturday evening, and they also want information about the movements of a dark-coloured hatchback car, thought to be a Vauxhall Corsa, in the area.

Julia Hughes, regional manager for Crimestoppers, said: "Crimestoppers understands that very often people have information but are too scared to come forward. We want to assure people that if they contact Crimestoppers they will not have to give a statement or go to court."

Information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers by phoning 0800 555 111 or by filling in an anonymous online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org. The reward will only qualify if information is passed to Crimestoppers.

Anyone with information can also contact Thames Valley Police on 101.
