A former High Wycombe grammar school pupil is believed to be one of the British jihadists swapped between Turkey and ISIS.
Shabazz Suleman, 18, who was a pupil at the Royal Grammar School, is understood to be one of 180 ISIS fighters exchanged for 49 Turkish hostages, according to national media reports.
The Times reported that it was leaked a list of names confirmed by ISIS sources. Mr Suleman was one of those named on the list.
Roy Page, headteacher of RGS, said Mr Suleman fitted in well and formed good relationships during his time at the Amersham Road school.
The headeacher said that the teenager volunteered last summer in Syria and was a member of a convoy that delivered humanitarian aid to the people of Aleppo as part of a Turkish charity.
The school was approached by authorities regarding Mr Suleman and police officers trained in combating the growth of terrorism will be talking to pupils in the coming weeks.
Foreign Office officials confirmed they are aware of a British National who was reported missing in Turkey this year and are in contact with the family.
There has not yet been any official confirmation that Mr Suleman was one of the Turkish government-held prisoners.
