MARLOW’S Mayor is wasting no time in her using her new powers after being awarded the Freedom of the City of London before Christmas.
Suzanne Brown has revealed she intends to exercise her right to herd livestock over the River Thames at London Bridge later this year.
And the Mayor, whose Freeman title puts her in illustrious company with Sir Winston Churchill and Lord Nelson, will perform the spectacle on Sunday, October 5 2014.
Cllr Brown aims to use the stunt to raise money for charity, and plans to bring as many people Marlow as possible to witness the herding.
From the Middle Ages and the Victorian era, the Freedom was the right to trade, enabling members of a Guild or Livery to carry out their trade or craft in the square mile of the City.
