PLANS for a new cafe/bar in Amersham are back on the menu after a fresh proposal was submitted.
Previously-submitted plans to convert the former Entertainer toy shop in Hill Avenue were withdrawn on a technicality, with council bosses concerned at the extraction of waste from the kitchen.
But the proposals have now been resubmitted, with four new flats also set to be added to the first floor of the property.
And it's been revealed for the first time the company set to move in, subject to permission being granted, is the Bristol-based Lounge group.
The chain, which markets itself as a family friendly restaurant/bar, has agreed the move in principle with Little Chalfont-based Dove Properties, which has submitted the application.
If given approval the new business venture would potentially open from 8am-11pm Monday to Friday and from 9am-11pm at weekends and on bank holidays. Five new car parking spaces and four bicycle racks would also be created, as would three one-bedroom flats and one two-bedroom dwelling.
A total of ten full time and ten part time jobs would be created by the new business.
Chiltern District Council, which is in charge of licencing and planning in Amersham, is likely to rule on whether to grant permission in early February.
