A UNIVERSITY student met the dad of the man who saved his life with the greatest gift of all - a heart.
Last New Year's Eve Will Pope, whose family live near Princes Risborough in Owlswick, did not have long left to live.
He had caught a virus months before which had caused his heart to fail and he was waiting for a heart donor.
On December 30, a 20-year-old man called Tom Ince, was in a devastating car crash which caused critical head injuries.
His parents, Steve and Sue, knew their son was on the donor list and had to decide whether to honour his wishes, after the life support machines were switched off.
They did, and ITV show The Tonight Programme captured the emotional moment when Will met Tom's dad, Steve.
Will went back to Bristol University in September and he thanked Steve and Sue for their incredible selflessness.
Will is also playing guitar on a charity single for Harefield Hospital by Mary Spender called Willpower.
