Once again the Shepherd family are lighting up Marlow Bottom in aid of charity. This is the 13th year we have been fundraising and each year we try to introduce some new elements to the display. This year, Tony has been making additional features, such the star and hoops which are on the apex of the roof. Tony has sequenced eight different songs to music and one song plays approx every 15 minutes at 15, 30 and 45 minutes past each hour between 5pm and 9pm. Each song takes around 20 hours of programming and Tony can now control 80 strings of lights simultaneously. I think he has managed to capture the beauty of the lights and maintain their classical appearance.

For our second year we are supporting Brainstrust as we have a number of friends who have had brain tumours or are currently receiving treatment for a brain tumour. We wish to support Brainstrust to provide the much-needed emotional support, guidance on health care options, education and research into this underfunded area of healthcare.

We set ourselves a target of £1,500, however, since our ‘switch on’ event on December 1, we have already raised around £1,300, therefore we are hoping to exceed this.

Donations for our light display can be made by putting a donation through our letter box or via our Just Giving site. We also have a You tube link that shows a video of the dancing lights to music. This now has around 1,500 ‘hits’ on it.
