POLICE have charged a man with theft in relation to a vulnerable elderly man who parted with a large amount of his life savings.
Officers charged Raja Paps, 42, of Bates Close, George Green, Slough with nine counts of theft between January 31 and February 14, after consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service.
The charges relate to reports in February from High Wycombe bank staff that a vulnerable elderly male customer was acting out of character and withdrawing large amounts of money on a daily basis.
Police said the victim had allegedly been persuaded to part with a large amount of his life savings under the pretence of funeral arrangements being organised on his behalf.
Raja Paps has been bailed to appear at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court in January.
