THE Fire Brigades Union will be staging more four-hour strikes today and tomorrow over its dispute with the Government concerning pensions.
Both strikes, on Friday and Saturday, will run from 6pm to 10pm.
Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service has reassured the public it has plans which will let it continue to provide cover in Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes during these periods of industrial action. These plans were successfully put in place during the FBU strikes in September and November.
Jason Thelwell, Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service's Chief Operating Officer, said: "It's a busy time of year, with Christmas preparations and the Christmas party season in full swing, so whatever you're doing, please take extra care.
"Emergency calls where lives are at risk will be prioritised, and we will continue to provide as much information as possible to help people avoid having a fire or other emergency - not just during strike periods, but all year round."
