A 71-YEAR-old was attacked by robbers who stole thousands of pounds of money raised for scouts at a bonfire night.
The treasurer of the Cookham Scout Group was returning from the club's annual fireworks display in Formosa Meadow on Saturday when he was attacked.
Three robbers assaulted him in Lower Cookham Road in Maidenhead at 8.30pm after they approached his car and caused damage to his vehicle.
They stole the takings from the display, which he was carrying with him.
The treasurer attempted to give chase but the offenders managed to escape on foot, taking with them the charity money.
They were dressed in dark clothing and were armed with what is believed to be a broken garden ornament.
The victim received injuries to his face and head and was treated by paramedics.
