A DEPRESSED 67-year-old man who was did not want to grow old took his own life, an inquest heard.
Alan Mann was found at his home in Burtons Way in Chalfont St Giles.
Det Sgt Richard Earl said police were called to Mr Mann's home on July 17 at 1.33pm.
He said Mr Mann had been found by his wife, Diana, in their lounge, after she had returned home from playing bridge.
She had tried to resuscitate him but he was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Found next to him were three suicide notes, a book on committing suicide and various family photos.
The inquest at Beaconsfield Coroner's Court on Thursday heard Mr Mann had suffered from depression and was on medication.
Mrs Mann told the court: "He just didn't want to grow old and didn't want to lose his dignity and that was the way he was thinking."
Coroner Richard Hulett recorded a verdict he took his own life.
