THE jury at the Ribbon sex abuse case has been discharged by a judge after failing to reach a verdict on the three remaining defendants.
Seven of the ten men accused of sexually abusing a girl from High Wycombe were found not guilty of all the charges against them this week at the ten-week trial at Oxford Crown Court.
However, jurors were unable to reach a decision on the remaining counts facing the last three defendants after more than 32 hours of deliberation.
It is unclear at this time whether the men will face a retrial - the prosecution will notify the court of its decision at a hearing on August 2.
The three remaining defendants are:
Iblal Fiaz, 21, of St George’s Close, High Wycombe – who was accused of four counts of rape of a child under 13, seven counts of rape, two counts of conspiracy to rape, eight counts of trafficking for sexual exploitation, two charges of sexual activity with a child and one count of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
He was, however, found not guilty of seven counts of trafficking, five counts of rape and two counts of conspiracy to rape.
- Khasim Fiaz, 22, of St George’s Close, High Wycombe – who was accused of two counts of rape of a child under 13, one count of rape, two counts of conspiracy to rape and one count of trafficking for sexual exploitation.
He was cleared of two counts of conspiracy to rape by the jury.
- Mudassar Hussain, 29, of Abbey Barn Road, High Wycombe – who was accused of two counts of rape. He was found not guilty on one count of rape.
The seven men cleared of all charges against them are:
Ammar Rafiq, 19, from Kent Road in west London – found not guilty of four counts of rape.
Mohammed Adnan, 21, of Upper Green Street, High Wycombe - found not guilty of two counts of rape.
