AN AIR ambulance was called to Downley to fly a motorcyclist to hospital yesterday evening.
Police have not yet confirmed the details but it is thought there was a collision between vehicles on the Pastures.
Paramedics from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance attended, with the chopper placed down at The Pastures Free Methodist Church's car park.
Officials at the air ambulance charity said one person was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford but could not give any details on the type or extent of the injuries incurred, nor could it say if the victim was a man or woman.
However, Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance, said the victim had been taken to the trauma unit and it is believed the injuries are serious.
They were called at 4.55pm.
Downley resident James Standen captured these images of the helicopter as he returned home from work.
Mr Standen, 33, an electrician, said: “I heard the helicopter and it sounded like it was on the roof, then I came out and it had landed in the church car park.
“The incident happened on the Pastures on top of Middlebrooke Road.”
