THE Sonic Shock Emporium and The Aquarium are just two audio visual treats in store for visitors to Connect 2013, the End of Year Show for Amersham & Wycombe College students in creative industries.
The show opens next on Monday at the Amersham Centre with another display of work and live performances during the week- long event.
Each year the building is transformed into an art gallery, showcasing work in fine art, graphic design, print, ceramics, fashion, photography, animation, TV production, music and performing arts.
Visitors can immerse themselves in a whole raft of audio visual treats taking place throughout the building as well as watch a live TV production focussed on student exhibits.
On top of this will be a fashion show at 7.30pm on Wednesday evening and a sound cube in reception with listening posts playing student music.
Beth Ring, Deputy Head of Creative Industries, said: "Once again our student work is of the highest standard. Much of it is recognised on a national level through a variety of competitions students have entered. For example, 15 Art & Design students have just been shortlisted in the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers Picturing Time Competition."
This means all 15 (including 12 FE students aged 16-18) will exhibit at Sotheby's in London this summer alongside work from students at top universities nationwide.
Reinforcing this success, the College is a founder member of the National Skills Academy Creative & Cultural in recognition of its outstanding provision in creative industries.
Connect 2013 runs at the following times:
Monday 7-9pm, Tuesday 10-8.30pm, Wednesday 10 - 9pm, Thursday 10 - 8.30pm, Friday 10-4pm.
The event takes place at the Amersham Centre in Stanley Hill, Amersham.
Tickets for the fashion show are available from the Box Office on 0800 614016 or email boxoffice@amersham.ac.uk
