THE HOME Secretary and arguably Britain's greatest every Olympian were on hand as Marlow Rowing Club celebrated receiving a £1million grant today.

Theresa May, also the Maidenhead MP, and Sir Steve Redgrave, the five times Olympic gold medallist, this afternoon spoke of their delight at the money injection.

The cash from Sport England will go towards restoring its blaze hit clubhouse, under Marlow Bridge.

It was wrecked by fire about 18 months ago.

A cheque with funds raised through the National Lottery was handed over as part of the official announcement this afternoon.
